About me:
The most interesting side of my work is the phase when I generate ideas. When I imagine the result of my artwork, I feel like my idea has been brought to life already.
It feels as if I would just need to reach out and take this object from the depths of the universe.
In reality, this is the moment when the real work begins.
The main techniques I use to realise my ideas are: glass fusing, cold working, glass painting, photo print and montage. I like to combine different techniques, experiment, look for new methods and discover new ways of saying what is important to me.
An inevitable part is the light. The moment when all the connections have been made, the light emits from inside the glass and all the parts of the installation will breathe in the same rhythm, is the peak for me. Or returning to the beginning when I didn’t have anything but my imagination.
I was born in the Soviet Union. I finished Estonian Art Academy in 1992 and have mainly been involved in teaching glass art and drawing at Tallinn University. From 2001 I have belonged to the Estonian Glass Artists Union and from 2007 to the Estonian Artists Union. I belong to the board of EKKU since the beginning of this year.
